This tutorial will guide you on how to use the offline calculators in the Buildings submission app. At the bottom of this page will also contain details on how to handle errors that may appear at time of upload.

How to download and use offline calculators.

  1. Downloading the offline calculators.

Navigate to the “Green Star resources” page in Green Star Online. Alternatively click on the link: https://www.gbca.org.au/greenstar-manager/resources/

  1. Editing the offline calculators Depending on the calculator you’re uploading, expand the headers below to find out more.
  2. Uploading the offline calculator spreadsheet
    1. Navigate to the calculator page in the Buildings submission app
    2. Select “Upload excel calculator” on the calculator you’re uploading.
    3. Either drag and drop the excel file or press the upload button
    4. Press Save
    5. A green success banner will appear if the upload was successful. If not a pop-up will appear stating the issue.
    6. Navigate to submission form and open the credits relating to the calculators.
      1. Values will appear AND

      2. field populates as “Last saved from : Excel Import”

        If the field populates as “Last saved from: Online Calculator”, this indicates it was last populated via the online calculator.

Error Definition:

While uploading the offline calculator, you may run into error messages. The below table will cover off the error messages and what to do next:

Error Message Reason for error Resolution
The incorrect template has been uploaded. Please check the resources portal for the latest version. You may be using an old template or are attempting to upload another calculator template. - Verify you’re uploading the most recent offline calculator template via the resources portal.
